The Restaurant

The Mountview Hotel has been known for providing great food and superb personal hospitality for many years, and this tradition still flourishes today.

Whether celebrating a special family occasion, wining and dining business associates, or on holiday in Cairngorms National Park, the Mountview offers many dining options to give you an evening to remember.

The hotel's Restaurant  is a superb showcase for our locally-sourced, world class ingredients.   Menus are simple and uncomplicated - and special dietary needs are always catered for.  Our excellent wine list includes fine wines from small producers around the world, giving our guests plenty of choice.

Mountview 10oz Rump Steak - Local Balliefurth steak, hung for 28 days, pan seared & oven finished. Served with hand cut Maris Piper chips and french dressed fine beans £19.95   Why not add our homemade pepper sauce, Arran mustard sauce, or a melting slice of Strathdon blue cheese?

Pan Seared Corn-fed Chicken Breast - garlic roasted new potatoes, kale & chorizo hash, pan jus £15.95

Homemade Double Crust Pie of the day - homemade pastry with a delicious fililng, served with winter vegetables, creamy mash & a rich gravy. All the meat in our pies is sourced from our local Balliefurth butcher. £13.95

“Following an email to our self catering property advertising their new menu we thought we would give it a go, grabbed some friends and off we went. Absolutely lovely meal - service is excellent, staff are lovely, friendly, unobtrusive. Wine list is good and the selection of gins even better for a pre dinner drink. We've been back since and are due to go again this week. We feel that it is on a par with another local restaurant that we used to go to and now will choose Mountview over and above the other one because food and price are pretty similar”
