Cuisine

Perched on top of a hill and with panoramic views of the Cairngorm mountain range, our restaurant offers a menu packed with delicious seasonal Scottish food. We use the best locally sourced ingredients, from the tender beef and lamb grazed on the pastures of Strathspey and North Scotland, to the wild mushrooms handpicked in local woodlands and fresh salads and herbs and vegetables from our own kitchen garden. With ingredients this good we make sure our food is cooked to perfection.

Our talented Chef heads an enthusiastic team, ensuring that dining at Mountview is an opportunity to enjoy the wonderful, fresh, local ingredients for which this area is so well known.

Herb Crusted North Sea Monkfish - served with a mixed bean and chorizo cassoulet £17.50

10oz Balliefurth Rump Steak - locally soured Balliefurth steaks, hung for 28 days before being pan seared & oven finished. Served with French dressed fine beans & hand cut Maris Piper chips or truffle oil mash £19.95

Why not add our homemade pepper sauce, Arran mustard sauce or a slice of melting Strathdon Blue cheese? All our sauces are complimentary!

8oz Balliefurth Lamp Rump - lightly spiced and served with herb infused creamy dauphinoise potatoes and buttered kale £16.50

Spiced Duck Breast - pan seaed and oven finished, served with a creamy herb mash, buttered carrots and a rich pan jus £16.50

Vegetarian Thai Red Curry - potato, aubergine and spinach curry, served alongside a yellow split pea and raisin dhal, and aromatic rice £14.95
